Millions of low-income individuals and families struggle to find affordable broadband options causing a large connectivity gap across America. In an article for the Benton Foundation, Jim Horrigan, Senior Fellow at the Technology Policy Institute, highlights current efforts by many organizations to close this gap.
The article features Mobile Beacon’s innovative broadband adoption efforts, in partnership with PCs for People, which helps create technology adoption for the most difficult to reach communities. The Bridging the Gap program reveals a consistency with other research on programs that encourage broadband adoption among low-income groups. Our 2017 research was referenced in the article to show what truly affordable and uncapped internet can provide to low-income individuals and their families.
